On September 14, the BHS conducted its annual meeting at the Bedford Town Hall. Our Annual Meeting is September. Slate of officer for 2022-23 was approved and a short overview was provided of our past year activities.  These included:

  • Two Clothing Drives
  • Fall Yardsale
  • Dec/Holiday Boutique
  • Cleaning/Organizing Museum and Schoolhouse #7
  • Carriage House Roof Replacement
  • New Website

The highlight of the meeting was a presentation by one of our Directors, Ron Carvalho.  Ron, along with our local Scouts, salvaged an antique Sickle Mower from land near Pulpit Rock.  Ron provided a fascinating history of this implement, where it was made, the inventor, and the role it played in agricultural history.  In summary:  A piece of our history through the viewfinder of an abandoned farm machine!
